Last updated: 8 August 2026. This Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") governs use of Temptera's numbering, voice and messaging services and forms part of, and should be read alongside, the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By using the services you agree to this Policy.
1. Purpose
Temptera provides wholesale telecommunications — DID / virtual numbers, SIP trunking and application-to-person (A2P) messaging — to businesses and carriers. Networks and number ranges are shared, regulated resources. This Policy sets out how the services may and may not be used so that traffic stays lawful, secure, and reliable for everyone.
2. Prohibited traffic and conduct
You must not use the services, or permit anyone using your account to:
- send or generate unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive traffic, including phishing, smishing, or wire-fraud schemes;
- manipulate or falsify calling-line identification (caller-ID spoofing) to mislead recipients or evade controls;
- conduct unsolicited bulk or automated calling or messaging (robocalling, auto-dialling, spam / unsolicited commercial messages) without the recipient's valid consent and a lawful basis;
- generate artificially inflated traffic (AIT), traffic pumping, or any activity designed to inflate volumes or defraud a numbering or messaging system;
- send content that is illegal, that infringes others' rights, or that promotes violence, exploitation, or hate;
- use the services in, or to route traffic to, jurisdictions or parties subject to applicable sanctions or export-control restrictions, or otherwise in breach of law;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to, disrupt, or probe the services, other customers' traffic, or the underlying network.
3. Number handling and verification
Numbers are allocated to licensed carriers by regulators and carry eligibility and verification (KYC, Know Your Customer) requirements that vary by country and number type. You must provide accurate registration information and any documents required for the numbers you order; requirements are shown before you confirm an order (see Verification & KYC). You must use each number consistently with the purpose and market it was provisioned for.
4. Number return and recycling
Numbers are provided for your use, not sold to you. Numbers that are released, cancelled, or associated with a terminated or suspended account may be returned to the carrier and, after any applicable quarantine, reassigned to another user. Eligible numbers may be ported out to another provider where portability is available.
5. Emergency calling
Virtual numbers and SIP services are not a substitute for a traditional or mobile telephone line and are not intended to carry emergency-service calls (such as 112, 911, or local equivalents). Emergency calling may be unavailable, may not convey your location, and may not connect to the correct emergency authority. You are responsible for maintaining an alternative means of contacting emergency services and for informing your own users of this limitation.
6. Security and fraud controls
You are responsible for securing your account, credentials, SIP trunks, and endpoints. We provide controls — including IP allowlisting, credential authentication, channel limits, velocity limits, and spend caps — to help contain abuse; you should configure and monitor them. We may apply protective limits to traffic that appears fraudulent or that threatens network integrity.
7. Enforcement
Where use breaches this Policy, we may — with or without notice depending on severity and legal obligation — throttle, suspend, or block affected traffic or numbers, or suspend or terminate the account. We will act proportionately and, where practical, notify you so the issue can be resolved. Serious or repeated breaches, and any activity that exposes Temptera or its carriers to legal or regulatory risk, may result in immediate action.
8. Cooperation with authorities
Temptera complies with applicable law and with lawful requests from competent authorities. We may preserve, and where legally required disclose, account and traffic records in response to valid legal process. Law-enforcement enquiries may be directed to info@temptera.com.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, regulation, or our services. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
