Porting out is a right, not a favour

Portability protects you. If Temptera ever stops being the right fit, you can move eligible numbers to another provider — there are no minimum terms and no lock-ins, and we support the port-out with the records the gaining carrier needs. Being easy to leave is part of being worth staying with. If you are still comparing providers, our how to choose a DID provider checklist scores porting alongside coverage, KYC and billing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I port my existing numbers to Temptera?

Yes, in many markets. Porting availability depends on the country, the number type, and your current provider releasing the number. Tell us the numbers and the current carrier and we confirm whether they are portable before anything is scheduled.

Can I port my numbers away from Temptera later?

Yes. There are no lock-ins. If you decide to leave, you can port eligible numbers out to another provider. We will support the port-out with the records the gaining carrier needs.

What is an LOA and why do you need one?

A Letter of Authorization is a signed document that proves you are authorized to move the number. Carriers require it to prevent numbers being ported without the holder's consent. Some markets also require identity or address documents, shown before the port is submitted.

How long does porting take?

It varies by country and losing carrier — typically several business days once paperwork is validated. Regulated markets take longer while documents are checked. We give you an expected window when we confirm the numbers are portable.

Will my number keep working during the port?

Yes. Numbers stay live on the current provider until the port completes, and the cut-over is scheduled so calls keep flowing. You point the number at your SIP endpoint at Temptera ahead of the switch so there is no gap.
