Security

Security built into your traffic

Protecting voice traffic and customer data is part of running a network you can trust. Here is how Temptera authenticates SIP trunks, contains fraud and runaway spend, and handles data in line with the GDPR. SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is the signalling that sets up your calls.

Securing your traffic

SIP trunks are authenticated before any traffic is accepted. You can lock a trunk to an IP allowlist (whitelist), so only your known endpoints can send calls, or authenticate with credentials — whichever suits your setup. This keeps unknown hosts from riding on your account.

Encrypted transport is available where supported: SIP over TLS (Transport Layer Security) protects the signalling that sets up a call, and SRTP (Secure Real-time Transport Protocol) protects the media — the audio itself. Support depends on your equipment and the route, so we confirm what is available for your endpoints rather than over-promise blanket encryption.

Fraud & spend controls

Toll fraud and account abuse can turn into large bills quickly, so the voice platform carries anti-fraud rules that work in the background. Velocity limits cap how fast calls can be placed, spend caps stop runaway charges before they escalate, and channel limits bound how many concurrent calls a trunk can carry. Together they contain abuse and keep an unexpected surge from becoming an unexpected invoice.

Our SIP trunking page describes the voice platform's anti-fraud tooling in more detail, including how these limits are applied to your trunks.

Data protection & disclosure

Temptera aligns its data handling with the GDPR. What we collect, how it is used, and your rights are set out in our published Privacy Policy and data-processing terms.

This public website captures no card data. Payments and provisioning happen inside the portal at app.temptera.com, secrets are held server-side rather than in the browser, portal accounts control who can act on your services, and administrative actions are logged.

On certifications, we are being straightforward: Temptera aligns its practices with the GDPR. Formal certifications are being evaluated as the business grows. We do not claim certifications we do not hold.

Responsible disclosure. If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, we would like to hear from you. Please report suspected issues to info@temptera.com so we can investigate.
