Reminders & Notifications
Numbers for AI appointment reminders & notifications
Give your reminder assistant a real phone number your customers recognise. Voice-first numbers in 100+ countries — outbound reminders and inbound confirmations on one line. SMS availability varies by number and country, and these numbers are not for emergency calling.
Voice, both directions
Outbound reminders and inbound confirmations on one number
A reminder is a two-way moment. Your AI assistant places the outbound call — "your appointment is tomorrow at ten" — and the same number stands ready for the person who rings back to confirm, reschedule or ask a question. One number, one SIP trunk, both directions, so a customer never sees a different caller ID than the one that called them.
- Outbound calls — your platform dials reminders, follow-ups and status notifications, presenting a local caller ID that lifts pick-up rates.
- Inbound return calls — the same DID accepts call-backs into your agent or a human queue, so a missed reminder turns into a resolved appointment.
- Local presence — local, national and toll-free number types across 100+ countries, so each market hears a familiar number rather than a foreign one.
Connect over standard SIP to any AI voice platform — Vapi, Retell, ElevenLabs, OpenAI's Realtime API or LiveKit — or your own softswitch. Temptera supplies the number and the carrier path; your platform runs the script. Temptera is independent and not affiliated with these providers.
Read this before you plan SMS
SMS availability varies by number and country
These are voice-first numbers. We will not promise text messaging on a number that cannot reliably carry it — because SMS support is not universal.
Whether a number can send or receive SMS depends on the country, the number type and local carrier rules. Some destinations support two-way SMS on certain number types; others allow voice only, or restrict text to registered sender IDs and approved use cases. That picture changes market by market, so we treat SMS as a per-number capability rather than a blanket feature.
- Confirmed at order — where SMS is available on a specific number and destination, it is shown for that number when you select it. If it is not shown, treat the number as voice-only.
- No blanket promise — do not design a launch around text reminders until SMS is confirmed for the exact numbers you are ordering, in the exact countries you are targeting.
- Voice as the reliable path — for reach that travels across borders, a voice reminder is the dependable channel; add SMS only where it is explicitly supported.
Messaging is also subject to local registration and content rules. If text reminders are core to your programme, tell us the countries up front and we'll confirm what is realistic first.
Plan your launch date
Verification and lead times, before a number goes live
Phone numbers are regulated, and reminder programmes usually need real numbers rather than throwaway ones. How fast a number activates depends on where it lives. Some markets need only light checks and turn up quickly; others require identity, business registration or a local address, and those take longer to clear.
- Requirements vary by country and number type — the exact documents and any local-presence conditions are shown at order, so there are no surprises mid-provisioning.
- Lead times are shown up front — you see indicative activation windows before you commit, which lets you set a realistic go-live date for a campaign.
- Bring an existing number — already run a reminder line? Port it in, keep the number your customers know, and take it out again later — no lock-in.

Please read — scope of use
Not suitable for emergency calling
These numbers are built for routine reminders and notifications — appointment times, delivery updates, account nudges, follow-ups. They are not an emergency or life-safety service, and must not be used or relied on as one.
- They typically cannot reach, register with, or be used to place calls to emergency services (such as 911, 112 or 999), and provide no dispatch location.
- Do not use them for medical alerts, safety-critical warnings, or any message where a missed or delayed call could cause harm.
- Delivery is not guaranteed. Calls can go unanswered, hit voicemail, or be delayed, so build a non-urgent fallback (a human follow-up or a separate channel) into any programme that matters.
If a use case touches life-safety, use a dedicated emergency-capable service designed and regulated for that purpose — not a reminder line.

Honest about capability
We tell you what a number can and cannot do — voice, and SMS only where it is genuinely supported — before you build a campaign on it.

The number is your asset. Point it at any SIP platform, move it between AI stacks, or port it out on your terms.
FAQ
Reminder & notification numbers — answered
Want the wider context? Read the guide to virtual numbers for AI voice agents, or how SIP trunking and DID numbers fit together.
Can these numbers make outbound reminder calls and take inbound confirmations?
Yes. The same number can place outbound voice reminders through your AI platform and receive inbound calls when someone rings back to confirm, reschedule or ask a question. Both directions run over one SIP trunk you control.
Do these numbers send SMS text reminders?
Not always. SMS capability varies by number and by country, so we do not promise text messaging on any given number. Where SMS is supported it is shown at order for that specific number type and destination; otherwise the number is voice-only.
How long does verification take before a number goes live?
It depends on the country and number type. Some numbers activate quickly with light checks; regulated markets require identity, business or local-address documents and take longer. Lead times and the exact requirements are shown at order so you can plan a launch date. See our regulations and KYC guide for detail.
Can I use these numbers for emergency or life-safety alerts?
No. These numbers are for routine reminders and notifications only. They do not provide emergency-services access or guaranteed delivery, must not be relied on for life-safety or time-critical alerts, and typically cannot reach or register with emergency (E911/112) services.
Which AI platforms can drive the reminder calls?
Any platform that speaks SIP, including Vapi, Retell, ElevenLabs, OpenAI's Realtime API and LiveKit, plus your own softswitch. Temptera supplies the number and trunk; your platform runs the conversation. Temptera is independent and not affiliated with these providers.
